Iftikhor Vatanshoev has background in economics and recently
received his Master’s degree in Sustainable International
Development from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management
of Brandeis University (Boston, USA). During the two-years graduate
studies he had tremendous exposure to an enabling academic
environment that allowed him profoundly enhance his knowledge of
poverty focused development models and acquire necessary skills to
implement this agenda. In spring of 2006 Iftikhor Vatanshoev was a
Data Analyst Intern with FINCA International and a Summer Client
Assessment Research Fellow with FINCA Azerbaijan.
His previous experience with the World Bank funded Poverty
Alleviation Project is one of his strongest assets. From 1999
through 2004 Iftikhor Vatanshoev worked with the National Social
Investment Fund of Tajikistan as a Chief Accountant. In this
position he gained significant experience in financial management
and accounting, internal control, planning and budgeting. One of his
major accomplishments was the integration of the specialized
information systems and accounting packages such as SCALA and 1C
Accounting into the management information systems of NSIFT.
Iftikhor Vatanshoev has also worked for two years with International
NGOs in Tajikistan and Afghanistan in various positions in
logistics, conducting surveys and field work for humanitarian aid
and relief programs.
